10/17/19: Columbus Day weekend - she's so good at going out!

Had a nice 4 day weekend!

Carlo actually got Friday off and we had plans to have a date day to ourselves since we have daycare for Mya, but she actually ended up being REALLY sick that day, so we had to scrap those plans and take care of the bb. We actually didn't have anything concrete planned, so we weren't too bummed out. Either way, the baby needed us.

Poor thing! Her first time with really bad congestion. Thankfully, she's still a pretty happy baby when she's sick (for the most part) - but is just more lethargic. We're really blessed to have such a happy and easygoing baby.

I think we still ended up going out on all 4 days even though she was sick, but we kept it minimal and indoors for the days she was really miserable. We ended up discovering that she's a pretty easygoing and adaptable baby, in terms of going out! Usually our outings and short and sweet to make it home to her naps, this was the first time one of our outings lasted 3 hours!

SAT:
Had brunch with 2 friends and Mya was still pretty miserable on this day lol. I think she was just staring at our friends the whole time and she wasn't as playful as she usually was. Had brunch at an Irish place nearby and it was yummay! My first time having Irish breakfast which had black and white pudding. I have had black pudding before, but not white pudding. It was bomb. Carlo had crabcakes and he said it was one of the best he's ever had.

SUN:
Went apple picking out east in Long Island, but we found out the farms aren't as nice as going up north. Now we know for next year! The apples were also more expensive by pound - but it was nice to do something a bit different at least. Mya didn't really see any apples b/c 1) it was the end of the season, 2) she was tired and ended up sleeping while we were picking up apples anyway, lol. We did also stop by a farm stand and picked up an apple cider donut because I had never tried it before, and it was SO GOODDDDD. Sadly, the apple picking being a bit more uneventful than we had thought and we didn't really get to see a nice pumpkin patch or even find a yummy place to eat, so we ended up turning back home, and then ended up in Jackson Heights (near home) and ate some really bomb Thai food. UGHH. The Thai food in Jackson Heights is legit better or the same calibur as in Thailand. And you don't even need the long flight!! SO GOOD!! It ended up being almost a full day out and we pretty much put the baby to sleep about an hour after getting home. We watched some episodes of Schitt's Creek and then went to sleep. That show is our new fav btw!

MON:
Manhattan outing!! Her first long outing in Manhattan - we were out there for 5 hours! She did really well. Typically, she needs a nap every 3 hours or so and she's supposed to nap for at least 60-90 minutes. She only got a 30 minute nap in the stroller but was still a pretty happy baby with all the distractions of the outside world and being in her stroller. =) I think we walked down from Flatiron, to SoHo, all the way to Chinatown. It sucks cuz nothing in Manhattan opens til like 11 AM - we got to the city at 10:30 and nothing was open!! We got a good 5 miles in that day, didn't do much in particular but walk and take in the city sights, which was still fun. We did a small pizza tour of Joe's and Prince St. Pizza (a first for me!) and it was really yummy.

Seems like our baby is just a party baby! I'm glad she seems to like going out - we'll just need to go out more often :)!
