 easter egg hunt #2
at chloe's second egg hunt, they divided egg hunts into diff age groups. mya's age group had ALL the kids running and laser focused and mya was darting around too. i love that she just went and did her own thing.
cherry blossom festival at j-town. so crowded by mya just likes looking around and being around crowds i think :)
first SF giants baseball game! very hot day but again, I think mya liked the energy and wearing her SF giants cap and seeing other ppl wear their gear. when jackson was napping after, we had ice cream from safeway and i think she enjoyed that probably the most :). jackson ran the bases. we find that he really likes obstacle courses bc there was one at BUG DAY at randall museum and that was his favorite.
BUG DAY - mya was overwhelmed and didn't really wanna do anything, while jackson was happily doing the crafts and actually touched all the animals (snakes, cockroaches, centipede!)
chloe came over for the first time on her own as susanna and calvin went out and they had so much fun together. mya directed the activities (coloring - i think mostly bc she wanted to control the situation and she likes that leader position) and they were so good at listening to her. jackson would get kinda possessive and say MINE which prompted chloe to do the same thing and that would start some fights sometimes lol. jackson still gets jealous if daddy is with other kids.
carlo quit his job!! and will have a 30 day break before his long awaited time to do daddy daycare
back into pocoyo and gabby cats lately (also sunny bunnies sometimes)

mya
more protective of her stuff/toys lately and doesn't want to share with chloe and protects her bed with all her might lol
started getting into pistachios (peanuts, not so much)
still gets frustrated at homework/games if we try to direct her (prob too overwhelming)
finally not into that 5 minute princess books that she got for her bday. she literally read it nonstop and there are like 8-10 diff stories there but she would always only read a few bc she didn't like some of the villains (like jafar from aladdin). back to being into library books again, phew!
it's been a constant but she's been eating a lot at dinner for a while now, and never any complaints. she always looks forward to dinner time and the first thing she does is sit at the table bc she's always hungry from school (i personally don't think they get enough meals and sometimes she doesn't like the lunch options..)
new fav: lamb chops! she holds it by the bone. still loves roast chicken day and it was the first time this month she actually dipped her shrimp tempura in sauce (previously, she's always hated sauce!)
still eating an apple a day pretty much. loves grapes!
new fav: drawing narwhals!
really into coloring again! uses multiple colors in one segment/picture to make rainbow pictures. so pretty!
can write: emily, mya, mom, love. sometimes she gives me papers that say mya love mom :D
loves spam musubi! ate two at her daycare when it was family picnic day .. those things are quite heavy and dense!
first time participating in a class discussion! we saw she actually had a response on the board the other day (usually it's blank) (prompt: how can we help the earth? if you put trash in water it can hurt sea animals)
attempted night training. we stop water at 5 PM and we still have to wake her up at midnight and at 3 AM (and that's on top of peeing before bathtime and literally right before bedtime!). idk how she has so much pee lol. with each consecutive wakeup, she's been easier about getting up but it's been a process. glad me and carlo have a rhythm now

jackson
actually knows his colors now! for a while, he would just call everything blue and earlier this weekend, he seemed to identify a color correctly and i asked carlo to quiz him to see if it was a fluke and he actually got a lot of them correct!
ssooooo talkative and i love how he wants to chime in with his own contributions when mya talks about her day "i play with... akira! i play with addy. addy chasing bubbles"
drinking honey water "ahhh! so sweet! so yummy!" lol so expressive

likes mandarin oranges
started peeling some easier pistachios on his own too!
pretty good with numbers, goes up to 14
loves categorizing/matching things (i.e. if he finds a horse toys, he finds all the other horse toys and plays with them together or lines them up.) when he comes back from home to take off his shoes, he asks "where's mya's shoes?" then puts his next to hers
loves to share with mya and always knows what's hers and gives it to her (like.. 95% of the things are hers and he's always good about giving it back)
loves dr suess books! carlo used to read it to mya at this age :)
doesn't care for apples, SOMETIMES eats oranges, but loves grapes and a new find - LONGANS!
jackson's been very needy at sleep (ONLY MOMMY) and falls asleep around 9-930 lately, which means im there literally doing NOTHING for 30-60m. sucks that carlo can't even try to help bc he'll just come to find me. probably going through a mental leap, but i don't mind either. i'm definitely still the preferred parent!!
he loves me so much! when he comes in the middle of the night he calls for me and then goes directly to my side of the bed even if carlo is closer. in the morning he comes straight into my lap then puts his head there like a puppy. that boy is still such a puppy!

better about sitting and eating dinner at the table lately, but always first to say IM DONE then goes off by himself to the living room and entertains himself for a bit until mya joins him on her own when she's done (or sometimes she'll just bring her plate and join him)
loves grilled trumpet mushrooms! doesn't really eat rice
"mommy's not gonna be home tomorrow for dinner" "nooo! miss you!!!" gahh that sweetie pie
