she always ask to "snuggle LOTS" before bedtime (her words!) this replaces me reading "the last book" more than like 10x.. thankfully she knows her boundaries with books now. 5 books and that's IT.
no more weekend naps

i think one night i said i love you, and she said i love you back! she almost never does, lol, holds her cards tight to her chest.
it was raining and she was so excited to grab and wear her rain coat on her own (i was just gonna have her run in the rain for a quick sec) and find her boots! i didn't even know where her boots were and she hasn't worn them in literally MONTHS since it hasn't been cool enough, and there was such a glimmer in her eye when she had the whole outfit on and went in the rain. of course i let her jump in some puddles :)
really knows her routine! she went out with po po to the library and actually prompted to come home herself. in fact she was like "we have to go to the restaurant!" b/c on weekend outings we usually go out for lunch lol
there were some 5:30 wakeups this past month but i think just a minor sleep regression. back to typical 6:30 wake up times. also i don't think she's ran out of her room after we say good night in a couple of weeks!
still loves the library and we get like 10-15 books per week and read through them every night that i think she memorizes all or most of the books. it's crazy how much she retains/learns through those weekly library book hauls!
finally over cocomelon and been on a gecko's garage phase
officially a preschooler now! they have math and spanish in the curriculum. so cool
always tells us when jackson has something he shouldn't have but also gives him toys when he's being fussy. i love that she mirrors our words of reassurance to him when he's crying "it's okay, baby! i'm here. you're okay. i know you're just hungry" etc..

started crawling over a weekend when my mom was here! on saturday, he would just move his legs like one "step".. on sunday he was able to go across the room. we officially have a crawler
he's a fast crawler and curious about everything. including wires and electrical sockets. we'll really have to baby proof with him!
such a cute baby. easy tells. only fussy when he's sleepy and when he is sleepy, he tends to crawl towards us, lay his head on our laps, and then lies down and sucks his thumb. SUCH A BABYYYY
loves people watching! turns around almost 180 in a highchair when he's at a restaurant staring at people! loves playing with anything and everything.

hates changing into his clothes after bedtime. HATES IT
screams in the backseat (like happy, excited screams) after we pick him up from daycare. it's cute when him and mya just go back and forth making noises. mya still loves holding his hands and grabbing his limbs after school lol. and eating 'blueberry toes'
on a 2 nap schedule. typically naps over 90m-2h at home. doesn't get as great of naps at school so he's probably catching up
teacher says he LOVES music and reading books
such an active energetic baby! when he's not sleepy during nursing he keeps moving his leg and extending it out with his hand. it's so funny
he tends to bite my chin when i hold him if he's sleepy/hungry. still loves grabbing hair and grabbing my finger/shirt while nursing, as if for reassurance. SO ADORBS
starting to mirror us a lot! and loves handing toys over to daddy. carlo put a coin in his mouth and jackson copied him! and carlo was pushing around a car and jackson ended up doing the same thing. it's crazy how much he learns even in just a few days.
went to the state fair over labor day weekend! our first time seeing farm animal judging contests! mya really enjoyed it. we saw a pig pooping, piglets drinking milk from a mommy cow, newly hatched chicks (SO COOL!) and mya even pet a chick herself. it felt like a hot minute since we did ANYTHING as a fam since carlo was gone the last two weekends. i think we also went to the playground (which we haven't been to in a while). mya was able to do a more advanced rock climbing wall type thing and she's really into pretend play b/c there's these fake wooden 'rooms' that are painted like an ice cream & pet store and she asks us to play pretend with her. OH and she's getting much more courageous with petting animals in general (we experienced this at the petting zoo at the state fair as well as at the pet store.) one funny thing is sometimes there's these boards up with hole cut outs where the face is for picture opportunities! Mya really loves those and she doesn't say anything but drags me towards them and im always like "oh! you wanted a picture?" haha. so cute
